Obama's Mama at Center of Major Conspiracy

Believe it or not, this congressman actually has constituents! For some reason, I am envisioning him as a guest on Nancy Grace's show--calling the president's mother the original "tot mom!"

“We went down into the Library of Congress and we found a microfiche there of two newspapers in Hawaii each of which had published the birth of Barack Obama. It would have been awfully hard to fraudulently file the birth notice of Barack Obama being born in Hawaii and get that into our public libraries and that microfiche they keep of all the newspapers published. That doesn’t mean there aren’t some other explanations on how they might’ve announced that by telegram from Kenya.”

What a Dope

“Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it.” --Rush Limbaugh, 1/19/2007

Paging Veritas

"I saw my father march with Martin Luther King."
-Mitt Romney, December 6, 2007

Mitt's father, Gov. George Romney, a moderate Republican, was viewed as strong on civil rights and he was supportive of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. However, he never marched with Dr. King. Mitt made that up in a lame attempt to pander to African American voters and then refused to back down when the truth of his lie was revealed. Here's what he said in defense of his earlier statement:

"I think the thing that's relevant is that my dad was a champion in the civil rights movement, that he aligned himself with Martin Luther King."

In the world I live in, that is not the same thing as saying "I saw my father march with Martin Luther King." What would folks call you if you said you saw your father marching with a famous civil rights leader, and you know that you never saw such a thing?

*In terms of faux pas, Mitt Romney is the gift that keeps on giving. I will certainly offer further evidence for why he needs to go sit down somewhere as the election year marches forward.

Intervention Needed

"I've always expressed my love for fashion through my music." --Lil Kim

Well, it's pretty clear that Kim doesn't express her love for fashion through, um...fashion. Many have expressed concern that she might be arrested again, this time for committing numerous fashion violations. I have always maintained that being a hot mess should be against the law--here, we see Kim committing felonious assault on our eyes.

Thanks for the post, Wendell--lol!

Isn't She Lovely

"I don't care what scientists say. You can be converted. You were not born that way."--Bishop Eddie Long

Bishop Eddie Long settled lawsuits brought by young men who said he had gay sexual relationships with them. He is the pastor of New Birth Missionary Church in Atlanta, GA. He is well-known for his homophobia and opposition to marriage equality, but we've heard this line before. Closet cases are often the most extreme homophobes.

Too Much "Midday Sun"

"I have in my hand 57 cases of individuals who would appear to be either card-carrying members or certainly loyal to the Communist Party, but who nevertheless are still helping to shape our foreign policy." --Sen. Joseph P. McCarthy, R-WI (1950)

"I believe there's about 78 to 81 members of the Democrat Party who are members of the Communist Party. It's called the Congressional Progressive Caucus." --Rep. Allen West, R-FL (2012)

McCarthy is already "sitting down somewhere," if you know what I mean.
As for West...GSDS!
